What We Do
One room or the whole house
Most remodels start with a single room, and we are glad to build that one room well. The value of a general contractor shows as the scope grows — a kitchen that opens into the living area, an addition, a full renovation. Every project below runs with the same planning discipline and the same owner involvement.

What a general contractor changes about a remodel
On any project that involves more than one trade, someone has to own the order of the work — what gets opened up when, which approvals must come first, which materials have to be ordered before the schedule depends on them. When nobody owns that, the homeowner does by default. Taking it off your plate is the job.
The sequence is set before demolition
Trade order on a remodel is not arbitrary. We plan what happens first, what depends on what, and where the long lead times are — before anything is torn out, not after the schedule is already slipping.
Permits and approvals, sorted early
Where your home sits in the Katy area determines which office reviews the work and what needs sign-off before it begins. We sort that out at the start, so the build is never waiting on paperwork that should have led it.
Decisions come with real information
When something needs a decision — a condition uncovered, a change you're weighing — you hear about it directly, with the cost and schedule implications in writing. Nothing important arrives as a surprise at the end.
Ownership stays involved
IAS manages its projects directly from start to finish. The company was built around clear communication and dependable follow-through, and that standard is set by the owner — not delegated and hoped for.
The Owner
Why Idan Shalom started IAS
IAS Boutique Remodeling was created with a simple goal: to make the remodeling process clear, organized, and reliable for homeowners.
After years of working in the remodeling industry, I kept seeing the same problems repeated across projects — poor communication, inconsistent crews, and homeowners left stressed by unclear expectations. I built this company to offer a better experience.
We're a locally based team in Houston that manages projects directly from start to finish. Whether we're remodeling a kitchen, updating a bathroom, or building an addition, we take the time to understand what matters to the homeowner and plan the work carefully before construction begins.
Our focus is on clear communication, dependable timelines, and quality workmanship that holds up over time. We believe remodeling should feel structured and predictable, not overwhelming.
How a Project Runs
Built in the right order
Step 1
The scope goes in writing first
A site walk and an honest conversation about what you want, followed by a written scope and a free estimate — detailed enough that you can see exactly what is included and compare it fairly.
Step 2
Approvals before demolition
Permits and any HOA review are sequenced ahead of construction, in the right order for where your home actually sits, so the build is not interrupted by reviews that should have preceded it.
Step 3
Trades in sequence, materials ahead of need
Work is scheduled in the order the building requires, and long-lead materials are ordered against the schedule — not discovered missing in the middle of it.
Step 4
Close-out, completely
Inspections finished, punch list worked through, and the house handed back finished — not almost finished. The project is done when it is right.
